Fishing. we have free use of a nearby lake, with Carp, Pike, Roach etc.
fishing in the Canals, Rivers and lakes requires a permit.

Tennis. Available in the local Village.

Golf. There are several courses within easy driving distance.

Boating. The lakes at mervent have sailboats, canoes, kayaks and pedalos for hire.
The Green Venice also has boat hire with or without a guide.

Biking The hiring of bikes is possible at several locations.

Horse Riding. Available in the Mervent/Vouvant forest.

Karting. There is an excellent course at Fontenay-le-Comte, where karts can be hired.

Games Hall with Snooker, Table Tennis, Pool Multigym etc.,

The Vendee is blessed with a large variety of activity centres and outdoor pursuits covering vertually the whole range (alas no ski slope) so whether your interest is golf, fishing, boating, walking,or just sight seeing you can be assured of something that will meet your needs.
The Vendee claims to have the best Educational/historical/enternment theme park in France and vertually every guest has claimed that it is better than Disneyland. It is the Puy du Fou and a must on anyones list of things to do in the Vendee.
Not to be out done La Rochelle also offers a great day out. Though not in the Vendee, it is just inside the Charente Maritime Department only a short drive away. La Rochelle offers a very relaxing, laid back atmosphere, with the harbourside cafes, restaurants and bars, the coming and going of all manner of boats and some stunning architecture. The aquarium is one of the best in Europe and is a good 3 hours worth of education and entertainment,ideal if the summer showers arrive.
