Beaches
of the Vendee
La Barre
de Monts
Le Barre de
Monts. The most northerly beaches of the Vendee other than the island of
Noirmoutier come within this commune. There are 7 kms of fine sandy beaches
backed by dunes and the 600 hectare pin forest.
There a 4 beaches listed and from the south they are:
Page des Lays. There is car parking near the beach which can be reached via the Chemin de la Paree Creuse. There is a 400 meter stretch of beach allocated to the naturist.
Plage de la Berbere.A short ride through the forest brings you to the car park behind the dunes. The beach like most in this area are severely reduced at high tide.
There is no surveillance.
Plage de la Grande Cote. On the peninsular formed as the coast turns in toward Fromentine and opposite the isle de Noirmoutier. There is good parking by the beach.
There is no Surveillance.
Fromentine beach. A wide stretch of beach with good facilities near by, a popular spot for dingy sailors.
