Terriere
This must be one of the finest beaches in the Vendée, it continues on from the beaches of la Tranche sur mer.
There is a vast car park almost on the sands and the waters are under surveillance not only during the main summer season but on weekends in June and September. This beach is consistently awarded the blue flag for cleanliness, and seaweed and other debris that often fouls other beaches further north is never seen here. There are good facilities on the beach and around the car park.

Apart from some good walks behind the dunes there is little else here.

This area of
the coast is very popular with regular surfers and with novice wave boarders
alike and though it is on the Atlantic coast it has protection from the severe
south westerly and westerly gales by the Isle de Ré which can be seen on the
skyline. Both to the north towards Les Conches and to a lesser extent south
towards the light house of La Tranche sur Mer are areas of beach that are used
by the Naturist.
